Feeling Anxious During the Pandemic? Don't Overlook This Risk

Sunday, 25 Apr 2021 12:10 WIB - detikcom team - detikFinance Jakarta - While the pandemic continues to affect Indonesians, many of us still feel worried about exposure to the virus. Although public knowledge and awareness of the 3M health protocols has improved, the decline in transmission and deaths caused by the virus is still considered not yet optimal.

On the subject of death, Indonesia's National Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that the mortality rate in Indonesia was already around 3 deaths per 1,000 people before the pandemic. This equals roughly 1.1 million deaths per year, or 2 deaths every minute.

The figure may be even higher during the pandemic. This means death is very closely tied to everyday life for people in general. Yet many of us still do not realize the impact that each death has, especially on those left behind.

Riman Budiman, founder of Kamboja, explains that death is still a taboo topic for discussion among Indonesians, especially
within the family.

"This perception leads to a low level of concern or preparation for everything that is needed on the day of mourning. So when "that day comes," it is our loved ones who end up bearing the full burden of arranging everything and paying for the funeral," he said.

In big cities in particular, the funeral process and arrangements can cost a considerable amount, ranging from millions to hundreds of millions of rupiah. This can certainly add to the
burden of those who are already grieving and suffering loss.

"Every death leaves behind not only sorrow and grief alone, but also a physical and material burden for those who are left behind. Surely none of us could bear to see those we love, and who should be protected, become burdened after we are gone," he said at the launch of the Kamboja platform.

Kamboja is a provider of funeral planning, organizing and funding services, offering complete funeral arrangement and management services, including the financing.

There are many things to prepare when the day of mourning arrives, from transporting and handling the body, the burial or cremation location, the coffin, the gravestone,
the funeral home/mortuary, catering for mourners, to handling administrative matters.

With Kamboja, however, all of this can now be handled better with experienced professional partners in the field.

Kamboja is supported by Astra Life, a well-known life insurance partner in Indonesia, which provides life protection for members, and by professional partners in the funeral sector such as the DKI Jakarta Funeral and Parks Agency, the Bandung City Funeral Agency, San Diego Hills Memorial Park, Mitra Medical Service, Akasha Ambulance, as well as hundreds of catering and florist partners spread across Indonesia.

With costs ranging from IDR 35,000 to 80,000 per month, Kamboja is committed to helping its members achieve priceless peace of mind by
planning everything in advance to lighten the burden on their loved ones if "that day comes."

Kamboja members can choose one of several available packages, providing benefits from IDR 25 million up to IDR 100 million to cover all the costs of the funeral process.

"It may feel a little frightening to imagine our own death, but we should start to be more open-minded, self-reliant and prepared. This is to protect everyone we love from the unimaginable burden when we pass on ahead of them."

"When that day comes, it is our own responsibility to prepare everything, not theirs. That way, only sweet memories will remain in their hearts when they think of us," he concluded.

Kamboja Funeral Protection serves Muslim and non-Muslim funerals, as well as cremation, and is ready to serve members across Indonesia, especially in Jabodetabek, Bandung and the surrounding areas. Registration is also fast and easy, requiring only a personal photo and an e-KTP (electronic ID card), and can be completed digitally via the website www.kamboja.co.id
