💐 A Journey to Lay a Loved One to Rest: Moving a Body from Bali to Bogor

Recently, Kamboja had the privilege of carrying out a meaningful duty by transporting the body of our client from Bugis Suwung Public Cemetery in Denpasar, Bali, to its final resting place at TPBU Giritama in Bogor, West Java.

Here is a glimpse of our team's journey in carrying out this responsibility, which is full of meaning.

26 October 2023

Kamboja received the report and planning for the transfer of the body of our client, who had been buried about 3 years earlier in a public cemetery in Denpasar, Bali, to be moved to a final resting place in Bogor, West Java.

Once all the information and documents were received, we immediately contacted the team to coordinate and begin the process.

2 November 2023, 06.00 WITA

Excavation of the grave began at Bugis Suwung Public Cemetery in Denpasar, Bali.

This was followed by lifting the body and placing it into a bag and coffin, while we rested briefly at the cemetery office as we prepared to depart for the Gilimanuk port.

2 November 2023, 08.00 WITA

The coffin had been loaded into the hearse and was ready to depart for the destination. We did not forget to offer prayers for a smooth and safe journey.

With hearts full of respect, we began this long journey.

Every kilometer we passed reminded us of the greatness of nature and of gratitude for blessings that are sometimes forgotten.

2 November 2023, 13.00 WITA

Arriving at the Gilimanuk port, we boarded a ferry across to Ketapang, East Java.

The roar of the sea waves and the calls of seagulls created a calm and dignified atmosphere. On board the ship, I reflected on the greatness of this universe.

2 November 2023, 14.00 WIB

After about 45 minutes on the ferry, we finally arrived in Ketapang, East Java.

We continued on toward Banyuwangi to rest briefly and prepare physically for the long journey to Bogor, West Java, so that it would go smoothly.

2 November 2023, 22.00 WIB

We began the journey in the early hours, when the roads felt quiet and calm.

We passed through beautiful village roads under clear skies and friendly weather. The moon and stars shone very brightly, adding to our spirit for the journey.

Through the rearview mirror, I occasionally glanced at the coffin in the vehicle I was driving.

In my heart I wondered how much goodness he had done during his lifetime, that so many people still continue to show such care and respect for him.

I myself felt honored to be part of this journey.

3 November 2023, 15.00 WIB

After a long journey of roughly 17 hours, we finally arrived in Bekasi Regency, West Java, where we could rest briefly and relieve our fatigue.

We did not forget to offer our thanks for the smooth journey we had been given.

4 November 2023, 07.00 WIB

The burial plot at TPBU Giritama in Bogor, West Java, had been prepared. We immediately headed there to complete our task of bringing the body to its final resting place.

We arrived at TPBU Giritama in Bogor. On that bright morning, I felt the freshness of the air, which seemed to welcome us as we completed our task of paying a final tribute to this honored person.

We guided the coffin to the resting place where the body would return to the embrace of the earth.

The burial ceremony was completed. All the tasks entrusted to us had also been carried out.

This journey is a story about love and respect.

A life that will one day end can serve as a reminder of how we wish to be remembered by those we leave behind when "that day" comes.

May we all be given the ease to make the most of the time we have left with those we love.
